Lessons at Tune Up Muziekpunt?
At Tune Up Muziekpunt you can start a course at any time during the schoolyear.
Have you never had a lesson before? Then fill out the online enrollment form!
Here you can indicate that it is a new registration and we will contact you as soon as possible to make a lesson appointment in consultation.
The first 4 lessons are the so-called starter lessons (lesson cards excluded). For new registrations and at the start of each schoolyear, the student is given the opportunity to see for 1 to 4 lessons whether the teacher, the instrument and the lessons (still) appeal to them and whether music lessons are also logistically (still) practical and/or feasible. These lessons are not free but pro rata at cost price, depending on the type of lesson and the duration of the lesson.
During the 4 starter lessons, it can be decided not to continue with the follow-up lessons. This must be clearly stated in writing.
If you continue after the 4 starter lessons, you are expected to complete the current schoolyear. If you decide not to continue, you will only be charged tuition for the starter lessons you have taken.
Are you continuing with the lessons after the summer holidays? Please note that at the start of each new schoolyear you will need to enroll again..
Tune Up Muziekpunt offers 40 lessons per schoolyear. This includes a maximum of two perdormance days. The holidays correspond as closely as possible to those of primary and secondary education in the Haarlem region.
After registration, you will always have 4 starter lessons at Tune Up Muziekpunt, every year, to see if you click with the teacher, if you like the instrument and if the lessons (still) appeal to you and are also logistically feasible.
If you like the 4 starter lessons, you will automatically continue with the regular lessons, then you commit for the duration of the current schoolyear.
If it turns out during the starter lessons that you do not click with the teacher in question, it is also possible to change teachers. And if the student would like to try another instrument, this can be done on the same basis (4 starter lessons).
If it turns out during the starter lessons that it is not a success and the lessons do not work, then you can stop without further obligations and only the cost price for the number of starter lessons taken is due (1/40, 2/40, 3/40 or 4/40 x annual contribution 2024/2025). This must be clearly and in writing indicated during the starter lessons. The tuition fee due for the starter lessons taken will be settled with the current direct debit. The direct debits will then be stopped.
The music lessons are weekly at a fixed time. In consultation, you can also take lessons once every two weeks. Separate rates apply for this.
You can choose the following lesson durations for private lessons:

| • 60 minutes |
If you prefer to take lessons with a friend, choose duo lessons and enroll together.

If the teacher is prevented from teaching due to illness or other urgent reasons, an attempt will be made to catch up on the lesson at a later time, depending on the possibilities.
If the student is absent or is prevented from attending one or more lessons due to illness or other reasons, the teachers are not obliged to catch up on the missed lessons. In consultation with the teacher, this can be deviated from.
The teachers at Tune Up Muziekpunt are flexible and have the good will to catch up on missed lessons, where this is technically possible. If more than 3 lessons are missed per academic year due to the teacher's fault that cannot be caught up, the student is entitled to a refund of the paid tuition fee. A request for a refund must be submitted in writing or by e-mail and will be settled at the end of the academic year.

Irregular working hours?
Tune Up Muziekpunt offers so-called lesson cards especially for students who cannot attend lessons every week. These are primarily intended for students with variable working hours and are valid for a limited period. The costs must be paid in advance at once.

Entitled to 10 lessons within the current academic year.
Please note: lesson cards are more expensive per lesson than with annual registration! Check Fees & Payment
A unique gift in the form of one or more lesson vouchers! The vouchers must be paid in advance and remain valid for six months after the date of purchase.

Children from families with a minimum income are also welcome. The Youth Fund for Sports & Culture helps pay the tuition fees. Check the website for the rules and frequently asked questions. You can apply for financial compensation for children aged 4 to 18 via the Youth Culture Fund.
In many cases, you can contact the General Music Fund Foundation (SAM) in Haarlem to rent a musical instrument..
